Bent Rim Straightening:
When cars hit a pothole or other physical road hazard, the impact causes deformation of the aluminum rim. Tire Butler uses a hydraulic press to return the rim to its original shape. If the front lip of the rim is deformed, then the customer may also elect to have rim re-painted or re-machined. Rim repairs typically take 3-5 business days, depending on severity of damage.

Loaner Wheel Program for Unique Rim Repairs:
This includes CNC-machined rims, or bent rims damaged by potholes. This is especially valuable to dealerships, since the car does not take up valuable space on a hoist, or visible in the lot on jack stands.

CNC Lathe-Machined Rim Repairs, including Re-Polishing:
Many car manufacturers supply rims with a machine or cut-finish. To fix scuffing or face damage of the rim, a CNC lathe is used to remove a thin layer of material that returns rims to their original condition. If you look closely at the metal surface of the rim and see tiny lines in the metal, then your rims are machined. Repairs typically take 2-5 business days.

Rim Crack Repairs & Welding:
In extreme cases, rims can crack due to pothole impact or during the straightening process. Many cracks can be repaired using TIG welding. Tire Butler will advise you if your wheel damage is beyond safe and legal repair. For example, we won’t repair cracks near spoke rim interfaces or in areas with high stress concentrations or load. Repairs typically take 3-5 business days.

Tire Butler’s Rim Repair Three-Year Warranty
We offer a guaranteed, three-year warranty on rim repair services, contingent on the following conditions:
- Tires are mounted by professionals on newly refinished rims.
- Clip-on weights should not be used on the front surface of the rim.
- Do not wash your rims, or use any harmful cleaners or chemicals for 48 hours following any refinishing or repair process.
- Wheels should be washed with soap and water ONLY after the 48-hour period.
We do not guarantee against prolonged winter salt exposure. We can, however, help you source spare rims to protect your OEM rims during the winter driving season.
